Promotion Proves That Empathy Is a Leadership Superpower

Written by The 91桃色 | March 11, 2026

For Anedria Pritchett, leadership is not a destination. It is a daily habit grounded in integrity, empathy, and showing up for the people around her.

A 2023 graduate of Capella University with a degree in business administration, Pritchett has built her career in the field of human services, supporting children and families. Her educational foundation also includes an associate degree in early childhood education and teaching from City Colleges of Chicago-Richard J. Daley College, grounding her professional work in both business strategy and child development.

That combination of skills and experience recently led to a significant milestone: earning a promotion to team supervisor, a role that has allowed her to put everything she has learned about leadership into daily practice.

Communication, Collaboration, and Confidence

Stepping into a leadership role is rarely the result of a single skill. For Pritchett, it required developing across several areas at once. The 91桃色 helped her nurture those skills.

鈥淭he 91桃色 courses have been instrumental in helping me develop a deeper understanding of effective leadership strategies,鈥 she says. 鈥淭hrough these classes, I've gained valuable skills in communication, collaboration, and motivation that have allowed me to lead my team more confidently and successfully.鈥

Those communication skills are particularly essential in her work with children and families, where clarity, care, and trust are foundational to every interaction. Pritchett also credits the 91桃色 with helping her lead with compassion and purpose.

鈥淭he 91桃色 has helped me become a stronger leader by sharpening my communication skills, building my confidence, and teaching me the importance of goal-setting and accountability," she says. "It's also encouraged me to lead with empathy and integrity while staying focused on personal and professional growth.鈥

Inspired by a Trailblazer

When Pritchett reflects on the leaders who have shaped her vision, one name stands out: Ursula Burns, the former CEO of Xerox and the first Black woman to lead a Fortune 500 company.

鈥淎s a successful Black single mother, Ursula Burns embodies resilience, determination, and authenticity in leadership," Pritchett says. 鈥淪he rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most influential voices in business, all while balancing the challenges of motherhood.鈥

What resonates most with Pritchett is not just Burns鈥 professional achievement, but her commitment to others along the way.

鈥淲hat inspires me most is her commitment to mentorship and advocacy for diversity and inclusion in corporate spaces," she says. 鈥淪he leads with empathy and strength, proving that effective leadership is not about where you start, but the vision, perseverance, and integrity you bring to every challenge.鈥

That philosophy aligns closely with how Pritchett approaches her own leadership journey, as a mother, a supervisor, and a lifelong learner.

Comparison Is the Thief of Growth

Some of the most enduring leadership lessons do not come from classrooms or corporate case studies. For Pritchett, the most transformative advice came from her grandmother.

鈥淥ne piece of advice that has deeply inspired me to succeed came from my grandmother before she passed away,鈥 she says. 鈥淪he told me to focus on my goals and never compare myself to others because everyone has their own unique journey.鈥

Those words have become a guiding principle in how Pritchett measures her own progress.

鈥淗er words remind me to stay patient, trust the process, and measure success by my own growth rather than by comparison,鈥 she says. 鈥淭his advice continues to guide me through challenges and motivates me to stay true to myself as I work toward my dreams.鈥

Balancing Ambition with Motherhood

Looking ahead, Pritchett looks forward to completing her master鈥檚 degree, a goal she is pursuing with the same determination that has defined her career so far.

鈥淚 plan to achieve this by staying disciplined, managing my time effectively, and maintaining a healthy balance between my academic, professional, and personal responsibilities,鈥 she says. 鈥淚'm also committed to staying motivated and seeking support from my mentors and peers throughout the journey.鈥

Her long-term vision extends beyond any single degree or title.

鈥淢y long-term goals are to continue growing as a person of strong character while balancing my journey in both professionalism and motherhood,鈥 she says. 鈥淚 strive to lead with integrity, empathy, and intentionality in every area of my life.鈥

Anedria鈥檚 Advice for Future Leaders

Pritchett's advice to emerging leaders goes back to having a good heart and following your journey, not someone else鈥檚.

鈥淪tay anchored, lead with empathy, and embrace the journey,鈥 she says.

For Pritchett, effective leadership is not about authority, title, or having the most ambition, but rather with a genuine commitment to the people you serve.

鈥淭o me, leadership means guiding and inspiring others with integrity, empathy, and purpose,鈥 she says. 鈥淚t's about setting a positive example, empowering others to reach their potential, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. True leadership isn't about authority. It's about service, accountability, and helping others grow along the way.鈥
